Not that special...

In a stunning announcement (no, not really)... the Ohio Jr. Blue Jackets name Jack Fritsche as head coach... By the way, I'm getting a little sick of the statement that "Columbus is the only U.S. city that offers players every level of hockey," mostly because it's not true. There's no AHL team in Columbus, nor is there AA pro in the form of an ECHL, CHL, or UHauL team (Joe Milano's UHL Stars franchise predicably cratered midway through their inaugural season several years back). Does Columbus have a wealth of hockey levels? Yes, but their claim of having it all is as bogus as a three dollar bill. Last time I checked, metro Detroit had NCAA D1 and Major Junior hockey as well. I suspect the Twin Cities will join the club in the near future as well. It's really not that big a deal...

This has been quietly brewing for a few weeks, but if you want to watch hockey in San Diego, you're now stuck with the WSHL Surf...
