Monday News

Unfortunately I don't have much that can compete with yesterday's blockbuster revelation about the new SWJHL (see below). There's a reasonably up-to-date (for once) article in The Columbian about Fort Vancouver's trip to Nationals, but that's about it...

The Colorado Springs Gazette has a long piece on recruiting...

Once again, O'Neal speaks, the Columbian publishes, who cares about fact. Those who care to check it out will find that the 2006 NorPac Cahmps, the Queen City Cutthroats, beat Boston 3-1, so it has not been "a least 5 years" since a NorPac win at Nationals.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:31 PM, April 02, 2007) :

Norpac is a joke, as is WSHL. Midget AA at best

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:52 PM, April 02, 2007) :

seems like most people would agree with you about the NORPAC & WSHL..But kids have to play some where. And if there is no spot on the USHL teams, The NORPAC seems like the place to go. You had a man and his followers bring that league down to the lowest level. We all feel very sorry for the players on all pacific teams(norpac), the man took a year of hockey and life away from about 100 players.....sad sad sad...
But its time to move on!! and suport hockey " THE GREATEST GAME ON ICE !!""

Is it Jon Macwilliams time yet?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:38 AM, April 03, 2007) :

1st Anonymous If you look at point streak, Queen City Cutthroats only won one gane in the nationals
Division I Jr. B Nationals 2006
USA Hockey STANDINGS
Team GP W L T
St. Louis 5 5 0 0
Phoenix 3 2 1 0
Queen City 3 1 2 0
Boston 3 0 3 0

what the Columbian said is the Pioneers won 2 games in the Nationals

The Pioneers didn't sweep nationals. What a surprize. Funny thing is Mr. O'Neal and Mr. Loftgrin have moved on to better things. There are leagues out there that aren't affiliated with USA hockey. Just watch them show up somewhere else. USA hockey might have banned them but that does not mean they are done with hockey

anon #2... if norpac + wshl are midget AA ... what is minnesota??? both owls and ice hawks 0-3.. same with boston... midget A ???? at least fort van and phoenix were 2-1

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:06 PM, April 03, 2007) :

Fort Van an phoenix are Junior B teams. The rest of their leagues aren't. St Louis is challenged all year by the likes of Dubuque and others and that is why they win every year. I will puke if some of these leagues get Junior A status as it is far from it, far from junior B for that matter.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:41 PM, April 03, 2007) :

How sad is it that three men that were banned from USA hockey ( Jon Macwilliams, Tim O'Niel and Mr. Loftgrin) all got to see there team compete at nationals. I have lost all faith in this game and the people that govern it. Now they will call Junior B teams A teams. I think all house hockey should be call AAA Tier III. Hockey is being ruined by the new generation parent/player.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:38 PM, April 03, 2007) :

From what I heard both MacWilliams and Law were banned by the WSHL indefinately but nothing from USA hockey. I agree with you though

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:18 PM, April 03, 2007) :

Fort Vancouver would have swept nationals if three of their players wouldn't have had 2 game suspensions, they are Jr. A quality

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:18 AM, April 04, 2007) :

Congrats to St. Lou Jr. Blues. But they were only able to win because of a team like Boston. It is a shame that Dave Tyler sets it up so that, what he considerers the top teams, don't have to play a tough schedule.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:07 AM, April 05, 2007) :

MacWilliams did recieve a life time ban from ALL USAH sanctioned leagues.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:13 AM, April 05, 2007) :

Where did you get that info Mr. Anonymous?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:13 PM, April 05, 2007) :

What's happened with the Pioneers now that Nationals are over?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:17 PM, April 09, 2007) :

After picking up NHL players that did not make the playoffs they are going to compete in the Midget B division of the Apple Cup in Wenatchee, WA. All the money that has been spent this year will bring home at least one trophy no matter how low down the totem pole they have to go.Jon Macwilliams and Mike Danton will be coaching the Team for info Contact Manager David Frost.
Go Team!
