Oddball goal call
Poor Cody... Not sure we can let him live this one down... (right-click & save the file) David Smullin and I were more-or-less punch-drunk by the time this goal occured with just a few second left in the game. The Titans had blown a 4-1 lead and were trailing in the third period before roaring back and putting the game out of reach. They were leading 10-7 when this goal was scored. Bay City Bombers forward Kyle Cook had already scored a hat trick on us in the second period, but the Titans' defense did a good job of shutting him down in the third. Off the faceoff a Bomber had tried to hit Cook with a lob pass at the blueline. Cook had split the defense yet again, but the pass went just long and Cody came a few steps out to play it with his stick. Unfortunatelty the pass up ice rebounded off Cook's face cage and back into the net. Shades of the World Junior Championship last year... |
