Seven days away...

As I type this, (9:19 PM CDT), it's 96 here in Fort Worth and 66 in Alpena. The high in Alpena today was 80. We haven't been below 80 here since 6 AM on Saturday. So yeah, I am ready for my vacation.

But that's enough weather report...

I'd like to thank all the readers in Green Bay who sent me the links on Rob Nicholson's resignation. First one is form the Gamblers (adobe pdf), and the other is from the Green Bay Gazette...

And no, I don't know where the WSHL's D3 data came from, but for $500 I'll be happy to make up some questionable facts for anyone's league </sarcasm>. Remember when Big Tobacco used to pay for "scientific" research to back their claims about cigarettes? Note to future players: playing in the WSHL will not cure your acne.

Kyle Chagnon and Brooks Mejia are heading east to become Woodstock Subway Slammers...

Here's another hockey-to-golf conversion. Speaking of which, is Doug Sauter still doing the Saskatchewan Golf Tour show?

Soo Indians continue prepping for NOJHL season...

The CSHL is hosting a pair of showcases this season, both in Taylor. The first is October 6-9 and the second December 15-17.

The Toledo Cherokee announced Iain Duncan has joined the team as an Associate Coach. Duncan helped Bowling Green to a National Title in 1984.

Enjoy your vacation and thanks for the blog.

Could there be a reason the CSHL is having showcases in Taylor? With the NAHL franchise there dead perhaps there's a future for the CSHL.

What NAHL team in Taylor? The sale/relocation of the Helena Bighorns fell through some time ago.

As for having it there, it's a nice facility and is close to the airport, so it's a sensible choice.
