WTF?!???

How can one make the first aniversary of Hurricane Katrina hockey-related? Thanks to the City of New Orleans, it's easy... go to the city's website and over in the right hand margin by the picture of Mayor Nagin will be a link to BNOB - "Bring New Orleans Back"...

Click it (not the link titled "BNOB Events," just BNOB under "Sit Reports")...

I wonder how much extra in gifts the Dallas Junior Hockey Association has received, and if Bush will be blamed for this too...

Update: The above instructions no longer take you to the DJHA, but instead take you to a rather dysfuntional webpage of some other purpose (a lazy google search of "The MAS Group" revealed nothing). Not all is lost, however, as a screen capture of the original result has been saved by the National Association of Manufacturers...

(Upon further review: Hans Hornstein informs me that Mayor Nagin does indeed have a hockey connection, as he was part-owner of the ECHL's New Orleans Brass. However, his election coincided with the arrival of the NBA Hornets. While Lakefront Arena could have been used again as a home for the Brass, Nagin faced an ethical delimma and was unable to effectively lobby the city for a lease, and the team folded.)

Hey Mark, what do you think of the at-large team that will be competing at the NAHL showcase? I have mixed feelings about it. So is it different players each game? How are they selecting these players? It could be good in a way for those chosen but could also not be to good. Mixed feelings that's all. Can't wait for your response.
