There's something screwy around here...

Lord help us... Bob Williams is calling the Oklahoma-UNLV game tonight... The game is a 8:30 faceoff, so expect to see some midnight hockey.

There's some buzz in the NAHL this week as the Blaine Showcase game between St. Louis and the U-18s was taken off the record books. Apparently the NAHL booked an extra game between the two teams somewhere in the season and as a result the first game between the two was changed to an exhibition. I'm not sure I understand the explanation, and I'm not sure if the change was made before or after the game was played (the grumbling by some teams makes me wonder if it's the former), but in any case the whole thing looks pretty screwy.

For those following the North Dakota-NCAA mascot battle, it looks like the Fighting Sioux's lawsuit is just around the corner...

Prince George Cougars turn down purchase offer...

Chilly Bruins name first captain...

The arena in Everett is soooo loud. (how loud is it?)...

Billings ready for NorPac home debut...

QMJHL comes up with a way to promote fan road trips...

And finally... For those of you who thought my Homer Call last year was over the top... I can't hold a candle to this meltdown. The guy starts channelling Chris Farley about 3:45 into the clip, and for the record, doesn't become officially upset until the the 10:40 mark...

I found an interesting commentary that puts the NCAA's mascot policy hypocrisy into perspective. It's at http://ezinearticles.com/?The-Game-is-the-Name&id=103453

The dissapearing game goes hand in hand with Mr Frankenfelds At Large Team Idea. Complest bust! Why not of just handed the points over to the teams that played them. St Louis was smarter than the League and seen it comming. Thats why it dissapeared. I would guess that TX will have somthing to say about this! There is no way anyone would agree or any NAHL committe would come up with the idea of only having 1 game out of the entire showcase be a exhibition!

The whole Setup for St Louis is Screwy. Not only has the league made one of their losses dissappear, but these guys don't even play two of the teams in their division and play one team only five times. Whats up with that? St Louis and Springfield must have some big time pull with the league, 'cause if you look at the Blues schedule, they too do not play two of their division rivals and (oh Gee) the way the league has made up the difference is for the Blues and Bandits to play each other 13 times. It must be nice to only have to travel a lousy 97 miles to play, while the other teams in the league do extensive traveling. Springfield does not go to Bismarck nor Fargo (about nine hundred miles) And by the way as far as the travel to Fairbanks and Wasilla go, those two teams play the air fare, ground transportation, and loding for visiting teams. Whats up with St Louis being excused from the Alaska duty while Texas, Wichita Falls, and Santa Fe are all making the trip. Santa Fe goes twice. I guess that is to make up in part for the non long distance traveling of St. Louis. There is something really smelly in the NAHL as concerns St Louis and Springfield.
