USHL Looniness

Thanks to Chris over at Western College Hockey for noticing this one. If you go to the USHL's Pointstreak page, none of the team rosters have birthdates. I guess that colleges and NHL teams don't care anymore [/sarcasm]. I don't know if this is a case of over reactive post-Foley cranius rectus or something else entirely, but whatever the policy is, it's voided by the fact all (or nearly all) league teams dutifully list birthdates on the rosters on their websites. In addition, the USHL didn't make this change retroactive, because you can go back to past seasons in Pointstreak and pull up birthdates.

Way to go, USHL, you've managed to draw attention away from Eric Krupka, the Santa Fe city council, and the WSHL.

Update:Nevermind about the WSHL, their DOBs are AWOL as well...

Not the only league. I remember seeing instructions from the WSHL league office, clearly stating that teams were not to add birthdates to Pointstreak.

How about a few words on the events at Tucson Peoria game?

League reviewed the tape and saw nothing wrong. Everything was kosher.

It's amazing when your at the top how many people hate you. Leave the USHL alone, they are beyond a question the top talent in the US and don't need individuals with a chip slandering them.

Ummm, I'm not calling the USHL's status in the US into question... they happen to be the highest level league doing this. It is not slanderous (besides, you should have said libelous, since this is a written medium) to point out a fact about the league and call it into question. I cannot fathom a justification for removing DOBs, especially if the teams post them on their websites anyway. If you've got one, let's hear it... otherwise stop being so damned defensive. Just because you're "at the top" doesn't mean your immune from doing stupid things.

If only the 'US' in the USHL was more accurate. We need Tier I teams in the East and West, too.

Birthdates have been returning to the rosters of USHL teams on pointstreak in the last week, as of October 28th.
