Larson and Millen quit Alaska Avalanche
There's been rumors and indications this was coming for a few weeks, but now it's official. Coaches Dean Larson and Corey Millen have left the Avalanche. Keith Morris, who took over as GM a few weeks ago, has stepped in as interim coach. Labels: NAHL |

quit is not the correct term really. more like forced out by the horrible mgmt group
No,...in adversity, you have the choice to keep battling, or quit. They QUIT. To be "forced out by a horrible mgmt group" is to be fired, or let go. They QUIT.
well you don't know the situation. thats not at all what happened
I don't know what or whom was behind the leaving of Larson and Millen, but I beleive that it is best for the players on this team. They (Larson and Millen) had teriffic records as players, but they simply did not know how to coach. The team had no break out plays, an ineffective power play and only a fair penalty kill. I have watched this team all season. They have talent that was not being utilized because of the way the coaches chose to run the team and the players. I am happy for the Avalanche Boys. Hoping Morris or whomever eventually takes over will do what coaches at the junior level are supposed to do -continue teaching and developing their players so they can step up to the next level of play.
i'm not sure the boys would agree with you. In fact, I'm sure they wouldn't.
My son was in talks with them- we were to get a call in the 'next few days' to get him out there.
