Seattle T-Birds moving

Next up on the franchise shuffle agenda are the Seattle Thunderbird, who are leaving Key Arena for a new arena in Kent (20 miles south) in 2008. The city of Kent is in the process of interviewing construction companies to build a $50 million, 6,500-seat arena, and the team has full faith it will be completed and be ready for use in October 2008. Seattle's general arena situation is a mess, so this doesn't come as a surprise.

There is no Norpac team in Kent. The team that played in Kent during the 2005-2006 season was sold, moved North into the city and is now known as either the Seattle Jr. Totems or the Washington Totems, depending on who you ask. Kent had been announced as a site for a WHA (Super?)Junior League team during the summer, but that team never did actually happen.

Yeah, I realized almost as soon as I posted originally that the Crusaders relocated, and yanked that sentence from the post.

The Seattle Jr Totems is not, nor have ever been affiliated with the Kent Crusaders. The Kent Crusaders were in Kent for maybe 1 season before folding.
