Weekend News

The WSHL has provided what appears to be the final word with regards to the Tucson Tilt players. It's clear to me that the WSHL is trying to distance itself from the scholarship issue through their interpretation of the rules and by the interposing of "scholarship" with "remaining tuition obligations." I would not be surprised if a few Tilt parents file suit against the WSHL and USA Hockey to obtain the release of their players, on the grounds that it was the responsibility of the franchise (not the players) to provide the work assignments in lieu of paying tuition. In addition, I find it interesting that the release omits any statement as to where the collected ransom money will go.

Williams Lake player commits to... Texas Tech?!??? Apparently so. Someone might want to let the BCHL know that Tech hasn't played Oklahoma in a couple years now, and likely won't again until/unless the Red Raiders move up to D1. I guess Brad Morgan's not talking up Oklahoma for me...

re: the Seguin changes. Heard from a friend whose son is on that team that the change was overdue and welcomed by the players. The team has gone 2-0 since the change.
