Saturday News

Thanks for all the comments on the NorPac situation... I appreciated the laugh I got from the Kool-Aid drinkers with the Fort Vancouver chapter of the Kill Foster Club. Folks, I have been more than fair to the Pioneers about this. If I wanted to trash them, I would have done it a month ago when I first learned of the allegations, or a few weeks ago when the initial ruling was issued, or when the Pioneers bypassed the administrative process by seeking an injunction. Instead, I have let the case play out in the junior hockey justice system, keeping in close contact with acting NorPac commish Mike Butters throughout. In the end, it's the league's (and USA Hockey's) ruling that matters, not the deflections and counter-claims of the accused or ad hominem attacks on the messenger.

again... when you say "if i wanted to trash them.."etc, no body cares.. you are not a legitimate media personalty.. so please stop acting like the things you say mean something

OK, I've got to ask, what IS legitimate media?

Marc's providing a news and information aggregation service here that is not unlike service you can find in a newspaper or magazine, television or radio. He's not pushing an agenda; more like making a presentation.

Similar services exist online for topics from gold prices to film reviews. The good ones get noticed. Some, like the Drudge Report, are virtually required reading for those whose whose realms they cover.

Marc could have had a sarcastic field day with a topic like the Ft Vancouver situation. He refrained from doing so. That's better restraint than some 'legitimate media' that infest racks at the supermarket checkout counter can say about topics they cover.

On top of that, he not only allows opposing viewpoints to be added to his service in the Comments section, he also lets anonymous cranks spew bilge such as 'stop acting like things you say mean something.'

Foster.....What is ad hominem?

Blogger Marc Foster said ... (12:46 AM, March 04, 2007) :

It's Latin... loosely, it means attacking the person rather than his actions or argument.

Lets take a look at last yr about this same time after the Chicago Showcase, with the Pio's. Seems like the same verdict will be given
a little tap on the hand.

It wasn't a slap on the hand - and why penalize Ft Vanc when it was "Chicago Showcase"?, I think Pioneers handled the situation after Chicago Showcase appropriately - they canned the head coach who was guilty and the Asst Coach (ONeal) stepped up to finish up the season with the team.

Once again your total ignorance and bias has come through. Who pays you, Jon Mc Bride or Donna Kaufman? Your just another wacko that can't do anything without hiding your true identity. Good luck on your idiot rants.

Hey I hear Joakim offered players $1000 to play for River City... GEE and they are worried about Pioneers. You'd have to pay players to play for RC - that's the only way you can get anyone to play at Valley!

Marc, you are right. People need to put this to rest and quit trash talking 'everyone' -- let it play out in the Jr Hockey justice system. Its between them and the Ft Van administrators.
