Marc,
The Tier III Championship coach wanted a way for that champion to be able to play against the Tier I & II teams.

Why not a Cup Winners' Cup in Colorado Springs every year. Tiers I,II, & III along with Jr B Champions get together for a little showdown.

Yea, I know, would never happen. Gino would never allow it.

stephen,

talk is cheap, if you want to play the tier 1 champ - become a tier 1 team and play in the tier 1 league.

Quit bad-mouthing Gino and either step up to the plate or go sit down and be quiet.

great... captain jackass stephen heisler isnt just posting on GR anymore... the last thing kids want is ANOTHER weekend of games at the end of the year.. seasons are already so long that most kids dont want to make playoffs-they just want to go home! so the worst thing possible would be to add more games

I could hide behind "anonymous" like you Mr. Captain JackAss.

By saying "Gino would never allow it" I am some how bad mouthing him? In what way?

Kids that do not want to make the playoffs because of a long season should do something else. This is freaking Junior "A" Hockey. Go play intermurals if it is too hard for you. Please identify these players, or are they also "anonymous"?

Too Funny

So it is about buildings and fan support now? Not coaching and talent? Wow, did not realize that.

GB Puck Fan got it right -- there's plenty of talent/coaching at the lower levels...Tier I talent and coaching...not necessarily, but the first step is the fan base and building. Tier I has minimum requirements there that are a much harder reality to meet than Coaching/Talent.

Getting the building or a lease if there already is a building is the tough part...the rest is much more doable.

By the looks of the HockeyEast rosters, one would think that the EJHL could compete with the USHL, on the ice. Especially if they loaded up a team. I thought this level of the game was about getting kids to college. What you are saying is it is about putting dollars into the owners pockets. Tier I,II,III...what ever. It is all Junnior "A". I go along with the first poster. Let em play. Forget the NAHL and USHL fake Championships, we should crown a real NATIONAL CHAMPION.

The EJ can't compete with even the NA on the ice (as evidence by the past showcase(s?)..also stephen.. i do not have a blog-therefore i guess i am anonymous. But let me tell you that MOST players, at least in the NA/EJ that i talk to regularly, all want the season to end as soon as possible. whether it be bone-head/snake coaches, bad ownership..ridiculous travel, too many games or whatever. maybe you want to believe it to not be true because if it is..uh oh, all your "efforts" are meaningless because even the players dont care! haha priceless

All you have to do is put your name in the box that says NAME. Not too difficult. I do not have a blog, so it is not diffucult. Ha Ha

I was responding about what the coach (in the linked article) was saying about getting a chance at the "other" National Champions. I agree, there should be a be a new weekend where this happens.

I am not buying the "bigger building, more fans= better hockey" logic that ou are pitching here. If that was the case, then March Madness Basketball would never be what it is today. There is something special when a George Mason advanced to the elite eight. Sometimes a team with a pocket full of rocks can pull off an upset.
