Coaching Carousel Spins Faster

Indiana has announced the firing of their head coach:
ICE ANNOUNCE COACHING CHANGE
04-14-2007

The Indiana Ice announced that GM/Head Coach Jack Bowkus has been relieved of his duties effective immediately. Scott McConnell has been retained as Assistant Head Coach.

Charlie Skjodt has been hired as interim Head Coach for the remainder of the 2007-08 season. A full press release will go out on Monday.
Interestingly enough, Bowkus' brother John was recently interviewed for the head coaching job in Wichita Falls.

According to the Jr. Pgh Pens website, Dan Serakowski has been added as a scout for the Indiana Ice of the USHL. It seems odd that this announcement seems almost concurrent with the firing of the coach.

If I recall correctly, new interim Coach Charlie - brother of Ice owner & father of current Ice player - was working as a scout, so it would make sense they would need to hire a scout (espcially this time of year with all the showcase events happening over the next several weeks).

waht's curious to me is the timing - right before the playoffs...
