JHB Ad Rates 2007-08

Last updated 12/16/2007

Over the last 18 months I've sold a limited amount of ad space and would like to continue to do so. I'm not getting rich doing this, but at the same time I've worked hard the last couple of years and would like to see a little something for the hours I put in. Readership has responded in kind, with traffic anywhere between doubling to tripling in the last year, depending on what month you wish to compare. Traffic counts are available to prospective sponsors on request, but have been increasing steadily over the last year. The last 90 days of daily traffic has averaged about 1,600 hits with 950 unique IP addresses. Based on my email feedback, readership is a fair mix of coaches, front office staff, players, parents, and fans. I've been using Google Analytics for several months now, so if anyone want more data on the habits of my readers, I'll be happy to answer what questions I can.

I consider my topic area a triple niche. Hockey itself is a niche, but I'm just covering junior hockey. For most leagues, it's now easy to find out who won last night, who got the shutout, who got the hatty, what the standings are, and who are the stats leaders, so I tend to stay away from the day-to-day stuff like game recaps. I tend to focus on business issues and player promotion and development.

Those interested in purchasing ad space can email me. I can also assist in developing the ad if necessary, including graphics support. If a space is purchased, it's yours for that period, so if you want to change the ad seasonally, there will be no additional charges. For ads of six months and one year, I will also run the ads on the blog forum.
